Roundy at US Open

Travis Thiele hit up his home mountain this season and got me and Dan Monzo in to for-run the events in hopes of bringing attention to Adaptive Snowboarding and our attempts for its recognition as a Paralympic Sport.

The US Open is the place to be in snowboarding and has been for over 20 years. It takes place at Stratton Mountain in southern Vermont and features both Mens and Womens slopestyle and halfpipe.

This year it was sunny and warm; perfect halfpipe weather, at least in my opinion. We are excited with the people we could connect with there. Kodak too a few moments to interview us and find out what we were doing at the open:

National Ability Ski Challenge

Every year the NAC in Park City hosts a Ski Challenge Fundraiser.

Teams of four along with a Pro Skier and a Host for the NAC compete in Parallel Slalom gates. I was excited to be invited in on the action this year along with Jodie Thring from Australia.

Jodie is an Incomplete Quadreplegic snowboarder and has been training in Park City this year. I’m really proud of how far she has come!!! Here’s a few pictures from the day.

Butters at PCMR

My brother shot me jibbing/buttering around at PCMR last month. As a snowboarder you should be able to do this BEFORE you start riding park/freestyle.
